When is was announced that Ashburn’s Beaverdam Reservoir was closing in 2016 for extensive modifications and a transfer pump station project, there was a great deal of objection from the community. The folks at Loudoun Water who were behind the closure reacted fast and announced the situation was temporary and the reservoir would eventually reopen.
So what is the latest?
According to NoVA Parks, Beaverdam Reservoir’s marked trails are still open for public access from dawn to dusk. During the closure water access is prohibited. No fishing, boating, paddling or other water activities permitted this year or in 2018.
If all goes as planned, the reservoir will reopen permanent water access in 2019.
