The second part of the interchange at Route 7 and Ashburn Village Parkway is expected to open this week. The initial traffic shift was implemented in early August and opened up the bridge access for those traveling North on Ashburn Village Parkway. This upcoming traffic shift will eliminate the traffic signal at Ashburn Village Boulevard and bring the County one step closer to the goal of removing the traffic lights on Route 7 from Leesburg to Sterling.

Of course this makes life easier for those traveling from Ashburn onto Route 7, particularly during commute time but it also should help with the back ups for folks heading East/West on Route 7.

Next up is the interchange at Belmont Ridge Rd and Route 7.
