New To Ashburn’s One Loudoun

Ashburn’s One Loudoun development started a few years back with the Alamo Theatre and a really cool splash pad.  It should come as no surprise that the development continues to attract new and unique establishments as it grows and new homes are added nearby.

Construction Continues at One Loudoun

Located at Route 7 and Loudoun County parkway, One Loudoun hosts a Saturday Farmers Market, a concert series, outdoor events, 5k races, and fun pop up shops throughout the year.

One of my absolute favorites Chicks Picks had a pop up shop for the holidays last year and will have their annual Fall & Halloween show at the Barn at One Loudoun this weekend.

Aggio Features Outdoor Dining

Dining

One Loudoun has dining options for every pallet (Nando’s Peri Peri, Uncle Julio’s Mexican, 5ense of Thai), at every price point (Spinfire pizza, Firehouse subs, Copperwood TavernEddie Merlot’s.) and some great happy hour spots (B One Loudoun, Bar Louie, World of Beer).

Celebrity Chef Bryan Voltaggio has re-branded his Family Meal restaurant  into Aggio and now features traditional and gourmet Italian dishes. Check out the outdoor dining, weekday happy hour specials, and bocce ball court.

This summer’s opening of a drive thru Starbucks was a welcome addition for Route 7 commuters as well as those looking for a strong cup of joe after dinner or a movie.

Shopping

Last month One Loudoun welcomed Fortessa Tableware Solutions offering shoppers a chance to shop for and own the same serving pieces and place settings used by upscale restaurants and luxury hotels around the world. Even better – Fortessa is a family business home grown here in Loudoun County, VA.

A new Barnes and Noble is now hiring and slated to open just in time for the holidays.  Not your typical book store, this location will be a test site for the company’s new store concept that includes a kitchen cafe and bar.

About Michelle

I am a REALTOR in Northern Virginia and a 14 year resident (and cheerleader) of Loudoun County.  I take the time to get to know each unique client and community and they benefit from my unrivaled neighborhood knowledge. By bringing my personal touch, straight forward style and proactive marketing plan to the buying and selling process, I provide exceptional results to clients whether they are in Ashburn, Aldie, Broadlands, Leesburg, Purcellville, Potomac Falls, Reston or beyond (I can find you a great agent anywhere in the U.S, just ask!).

Brambleton’s West Park Neighborhood

This week I spent time touring new single family homes in the West Park section of Brambleton. Located just up Creighton Road from Madison’s Trust Elementary and Brambleton Middle Schools, the base price for homes in West Park currently range from $619,000 to $724,000 and the options to customize are endless.

Van Metre Homes
Van Metre currently offers three floorplans in the West Park neighborhood ranging with 4-6 bedrooms and all at least 2,750 sq ft (without the finished basement or  other options).

They feature a decorated Carlton model to tour. Whether you want a large great room, a main floor bedroom or a separate study – the Carlton’s open first floor has options to suit how you live.

Winchester Homes
There are two West Park floorplans to choose from with Winchester homes, both starting just over $700,000.  The model home on sight is the Radcliffe and I dare you not to fall in love with the open, functional kitchen!

The Radcliffe’s Outdoor Living Space with an Optional Screened Porch

I’m a big fan of outdoor space and this main floor offers a standard outdoor space with an optional screened porch.  The lux master bath features a freestanding soaking tub and a big glass shower – all standard.

Winchester even has a couple of nearly move in ready homes so you can be in your new home in time for the holidays.

The Aria’s Large Kitchen Island Makes a Great Gathering Space

Miller & Smith Homes
The Aria floorplan is featured by Miller & Smith in West Park.  With a rear load garage design, the front elevation, many with porches, creates a pretty streetscape.

With four bedrooms and starting at $619,000, the Aria has a large kitchen and great room, a formal dining room and a very functional family foyer leading to the garage on the main level.

An optional studio space above the garage has endless uses – another bedroom/bath, family den, work out room – the list goes on.

Why West Park Now?
West Park is one of the last sections of homes to be built out in the desireable Brambleton community so give me a shout soon if you think one of these might be your dream home. Having an agent represent you on a new home purchase is critical – no one knows the builder’s contract and incentives or will look out for your interest from contract to settlement like a Realtor!

New to Historic Downtown Leesburg

leesburg
Downtown Leesburg’s King St

They say everything old is new again and the historic downtown section of Leesburg is proof of just that.  I’ve always had a soft spot for historic small towns and watching the resurgence happening in Leesburg’s character filled downtown area has been amazing! Amidst established favorites like Lightfoot, Black Shutter antiques and The Wine Kitchen it seems like there is a new shop, restaurant or brewery opening every few weeks.

The first U.S. Outpost for Delirium beer opened a cafe this summer on the corner of King

and Loudoun St. Known for their Belgium brews be sure to stop by for a waffle or grab a sandwich and enjoy the outside seating in the beer garden.

Also on South King St. and brand new to the Leesburg scene is Bites grilled cheese and wine bar. Expect to see creative grilled cheese combos, cheese boards and salads on the menu along with wine and cocktails.

Seafood lovers have a new option after Captain Catoctins Crabs and Concoctions opened in July and joined the King Street Oyster Bar in offering delicious regionally sourced sea fare.

No matter which adult beverage you prefer, Downtown Leesburg has you covered. In addition to great spots for wine (The Wine Kitchen, Chimole and  the Leesburg Vintner) you can now try small batch tequila and craft beers in the heart of town.  Black Walnut Brewery and Black Hoof Brewing launched in recent months and the early reviews have been positive.  Cocina on Market opened their doors in August and features Mexican food, street tacos and tequila flights.

All About LoCo Brews

Loudoun County has been known for a while as DC’s wine country but did you know it is now also the home to two dozen local breweries with more on the way?  In addition to craft brews, many of the breweries also entice with food, live music, and special events.

Lots on Tap at Ashburn’s Old Ox Brewery

There are three basic “types” of breweries here in Loudoun – Urban, Small Town and Farm breweries.  Urban breweries are typically found in the more populated areas of Eastern Loudoun county like Sweetwater Tavern (Sterling) and Old Ox brewery (Ashburn) and are sometimes part of a full menu restaurant.

The Brews are Fresh at Black Walnut Brewery in Leesburg

Leesburg and Purcellville are where you will find the small town brewers.  New to the scene in Leesburg is Black Walnut Brewery right on King St and a new favorite on First Fridays.  Many of these breweries also offer dining options like Loudoun Brewing Company and can be easily reached by folks cycling along the W&OD trail. Adroit Theory and Belly Love Brewing are among those that call Purcellville home.

Dirt Farm Brewery’s Tap Room in Bluemont, VA

Farm breweries tend to be in the Western towns of Loudoun where land and scenic views are plentiful.  Old 690 Brewing Company in Hillsboro sits on 10 acres and often hosts live music.  For one of the best views while you sip, check out Dirt Farm Brewery, just up the road from Bluemont Vineyards and Great Country Farms in Bluemont.

Because the list is always growing, I recommend you check here for a current list of Loudoun breweries and more info on special brew related events.

Family Fun on the Plaza

In the middle of it all is the Plaza – a great open outdoor space that frequently hosts live music, magicians, balloon artists and other special events.  It just beckons you to pull up a seat and relax after dinner or on a nice afternoon.

Patio Dining Outside of Burton’s Grill & Bar

Burton’s Grill & Bar offers an American menu ranging from burgers to grilled salmon and fine wine and cocktails. Open for lunch and dinner and offering outside dining, they are gaining a reputation for their happy hour specials and Martini Mondays.

Opened in June, Choolah Indian BBQ is already drawing praise from locals as a fun and delicious spot for Indian dishes made fresh. This is another good spot to dine outdoors when the weather is nice.

Large Tanks Greet Diners at Ocean Blue

If seafood is your thing, don’t miss Ocean Blue Island Grill.  In addition to grilled seafood and meats, you will find a full sushi menu for those who prefer their catch raw. A good spot for happy hour (aka Island Time).

A festive and casual option, Chuy’s offers up Tex-mex food and libations and one of my favorite queso dips. Also on the more casual  side are Cava(Mediterranean), Zoup (soup),  and Coal Fire (pizza/Italian).

Craving a Cuban coffee? Head to the Colada shop and enjoy your drink al fresco while playing one of their giant Jenga games. A suburban outpost of the DC shop, they also feature Cuban sandwiches, desserts, and cocktails.
